16-Year-Old Javen Grisby Dies After Baton Rouge Shooting Near Prescott Road, Teen Injured

BATON ROUGE — A 16-year-old boy has died and another teen was injured following a Saturday afternoon shooting near Prescott Road, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The shooting occurred around 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of West Brookstown Drive and Heidel Avenue. Officers found Javen Grisby, 16, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he died Tuesday.

A 17-year-old was also injured in the shooting but sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
